I'm, a curiously creative UX Strategist & Interface Designer well versed in a myriad of platforms. I initially entered the digital realm as a graphic designer but the pace of technology demanded otherwise As a graphic design student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I had the opportunity to study pure Design Thinking - we explored the relationships of color psychology, proximity, grid systems, typography and how they impact a users experience.
I became more intrigued with the “whys" and “hows" of user engagement and abandonment. I started to use the Fly-On-The-Wall research method to gather data. I spend one hour a day observing humans interact with everyday objects to understand the successes, nuances and frustrations with experiences gone wrong. For products with defined data and personas, I craft usability test and moderated/non-moderated user interviews to understand users expectations to develop a more authentic human-centered experience.
In the discovery and ideation stages, I design experiences guided by research, data, and user testing. On most projects, I use rapid iterative testing to quickly identify and remove problems early in the design process.
When I’m not designing, I enjoy traveling, art exhibits, urban gardening, photography, and biking. For the next 6 months my goal is to have a more definitive understanding of Machine Learning, VR, AI and how they will impact experiences within the next 3 years.
